Fathers Day weekend!!

First Happy Father's day to all the fathers out there. Our father's day was great we put most of the fence up or really Dale put the fence up I just watched. I really wish I could of helped more but I am unable to lift things like that right now. After that we watched tv together and then went to dinner which was so nice. Everyone really enjoyed themselves. When we got back we found out our power was out from a big storm we had while we were eating. It was out for a long time so we considered staying at hotel but luckily we didn't b/c as soon as we were about to leave it came back on.
We had planned to go to where the first ragedy ann and andy's were made but due to the flooding there we weren't able to. So instead we did a bunch of nothing which was fine with me. We don't get to see Dale a lot during the week so having him home is enough for me.
Emma is doing so great. She went for her 9 month appointment last week and weighs 16.7 pounds. Its not a huge jump but we will take it. She is also close to crawling. I think in the next few weeks she will be on the move. I promise I will tape her once she does start.
Sorry for the lack of pictures. I need to get on the ball with pictures. Again happy fathers day to all. I miss you daddy. I wish I could of seen you today. We love you all.

Emma started school today

It was a sad day for mommy because I had to drop my daughter off at school for the first time. Luckily, i was running late for work so I couldn't get too emotional but I am pregnant anyway so I will be emotional. She had a great day but didn't eat or sleep too much which I heard was normal for a babies first time in daycare. When she got home she was starving and exhausted. So I fed her and we both went and layed down in bed together. Poor little girl had it rough today. But I do think she had fun with all the kids. Sorry I don't have any pictures today but I wanted to let everyone know about her first day at school.

We are back

I am finally able to post after a wonderful trip down to North Carolina. We went down there for my cousins wedding and for Emma to be baptised. It was a wonderful week once we got down there. We had decided to split our trip up by first stopping in at my dads. It was a 9 hour trip to his house which Emma did not like at all. By the time we got there she wanted nothing to do with her carseat. It was great to see all of them. Emma really loves to see her Grandpa. The teenage girls were even there to see Emma so that shows how much they must like her.

After spending the night at my dads we went to see Pamala for the night. She was going to keep Emma friday night so we could have an adult night. It was really nice to be able to spend the evening with just adults but by the end of the night I just wanted to hold my little girl. That was Emma's first night away from mommy and I was told she did excellent which is great news since she will be going to Daycare starting the 27th. On Friday I was finally able to meet the new addition to the Comeaux clan, Miss Amelia. It was so exciting to get to see her. I think she looks nothing like her older sister but I am the only one that feels that way. I was also excited to see Julie. She has grown so much since the last time I saw her. She is now saying Melanie instead of Mel Mel which just shocked me. I was so happy to see everyone in my family because I haven't seen any of them since November. I wish all of them lived closer to us. On Saturday we went to pick Emma up and to see Holly and Gage and meet Stephanie. We were very excited to see them all. I really wish we could have seen them longer but we just had such a busy weekend.

We came back to Burlington and met up with everyone at a park that we all loved as children. We have also decided that is where Emma's birthday party will be. Emma had such a great time with everyone there but I think the carousel scared her. She cried the second time we put her on there. Later on we went to Laurens wedding which was wonderful. On Sunday we baptised Emma at the same church that I was baptised at. She did such a wonderful job. I was worried she might cry when he poured that water on her head but she was fine with it. I should have known she would have been because she is a very mellow baby. She only cries when she is exhausted or hungry and thats it. I am so blessed to have her. Hopefully my second child will be just as good. lets all hope.

Update on us!

Yesterday Emma got her helmet which she is still getting use to. Its really hard to put on but I am sure after plenty of practice I will be a pro at it. Once it is on her she doesn't seem to mind it which is what I was really worried about. she just continues to play. While we were at the doctors office she hit her head on the table when leaning to far back while wearing the helmet. I guess she thought it was cool that it didn't hurt so she did it two more times. Silly baby.

This weekend Emma said her first word. It was dada. He was so proud of her and almost cried when she said it to him. Now when he is not home she goes dada dada all day long pretty much. Its very cute. I can tell she is turning into a daddy's girl

Some exciting news for me is that I have a job. I start Monday the 19th for a company named Americall. Its not my dream job but its something different for me. So wish me luck. I think that is all I have to report today.

hi all!

Well we all had a pretty good weekend after a long week. Last week Emma and I had doctors appointments everyday but Thursday. We both have allergies so we had to go to our primary doctors to get a referal to see the allergist. I also got a mole removed. It was actually more painful than I remember it to be but I think it was just the location. After all of these appointments we were ready for a break.

On Friday we went to our friends house to cook out. I realized I didn't get enough formula for Emma so I had to go home to get it. We live 20 minutes from them. By the time I got back Emma was screaming. Apparently she had been crying the whole time. As soon as I picked her up she was fine so I think she is going through seperation anxiety. Poor little girl. It couldn't come at a worse time since I am going back to work in a month. On Sunday we went to the park and let her swing on the swing. I think she was a little scared at first but was smiling and laughing by the time we got her out. The wind is horrible here sometimes so we couldn't stay very long. The sand was blowing in all of our eyes.

There isn't much else to report except Emma has her second tooth in. Hope you all have a great week.

Emma has a tooth!!!

We are so excited about Emma's first tooth. It came in on April the 7th. I had no idea she was teething either because she wasn't fussy or anything. The only thing that I noticed was that she was having a hard time sleeping. Now she is into bitting on everything especially mommy and daddy's fingers.
She is now also sitting up like a pro. She can even reach out to get something and sit back up. She is growing too fast. She likes to play with anything in site and gets upset if she can't reach it. Her favorite toy is mommy's phone so if you get a call from me and no one says anything Emma probably called.
Today she had her appointment with the neurologist who told us she does need a helmet and its actually a pretty bad case. So we went today to get a scan of her head so they can get the helmet ready for it. She was such a great baby there did not get mad at all which I was surprised about with everyone messing with her head. She will probably have her helmet by the time we come to NC in May. We got a pink one since we could pick our own design. We both think the design is adorable. I never realized how many designs there were for these helmets. They had a princess one, a pink one with butterflies and a bunch with cars on them. The one we got was pink camo so she matches daddy. Its cute I promise. She will have to wear this helmet for 3 months which to me seems like a long time but its better to get it done early.
Well that is all to report today. Sorry no pictures I am having a hard time getting any on this thing. love you all.

its been awhile

I know it has been awhile since my last blog and I am very sorry about that. There has been many things that have happened since the last blog. Emma is now sitting up on her own unassisted for an average of 5 minutes. If we put her infront of the mirror she will do it longer. I guess she likes to look at herself. She is still not rolling over which is not a surprise for us but again if we put her looking at herself she will stay on her belly longer.
As many of you know Emma got an assessment done a few weeks ago. (Which is how we found out about using a mirror). They told us that she was averaging at a 4 months old level but I'm really not worried b/c children decide on their own when they want to do things. It seems to me that she just wants to skip rolling all together. They also told us they wouldn't be surprised if Emma never crawls because of her acid reflux and that she may start crawling early. Again, not a big surprise since both Dale and I started to walk early. He walked at 8 months and I walked at 10. The OT lady will be coming on the 9th to start her on the program they set her up on. We had to decide what we wanted her to be able to do in 6 months. One was play with toys in her mouth more (which she started doing the day after they left). Two to be either walking or crawling and third for her to be talking more. I think we will have no problems with any of those things.
Well that is all for today but I will be posting more soon. the computer is not letting me upload any pictures right now. sorry.
