hi all!

Well we all had a pretty good weekend after a long week. Last week Emma and I had doctors appointments everyday but Thursday. We both have allergies so we had to go to our primary doctors to get a referal to see the allergist. I also got a mole removed. It was actually more painful than I remember it to be but I think it was just the location. After all of these appointments we were ready for a break.

On Friday we went to our friends house to cook out. I realized I didn't get enough formula for Emma so I had to go home to get it. We live 20 minutes from them. By the time I got back Emma was screaming. Apparently she had been crying the whole time. As soon as I picked her up she was fine so I think she is going through seperation anxiety. Poor little girl. It couldn't come at a worse time since I am going back to work in a month. On Sunday we went to the park and let her swing on the swing. I think she was a little scared at first but was smiling and laughing by the time we got her out. The wind is horrible here sometimes so we couldn't stay very long. The sand was blowing in all of our eyes.

There isn't much else to report except Emma has her second tooth in. Hope you all have a great week.

Emma has a tooth!!!

We are so excited about Emma's first tooth. It came in on April the 7th. I had no idea she was teething either because she wasn't fussy or anything. The only thing that I noticed was that she was having a hard time sleeping. Now she is into bitting on everything especially mommy and daddy's fingers.
She is now also sitting up like a pro. She can even reach out to get something and sit back up. She is growing too fast. She likes to play with anything in site and gets upset if she can't reach it. Her favorite toy is mommy's phone so if you get a call from me and no one says anything Emma probably called.
Today she had her appointment with the neurologist who told us she does need a helmet and its actually a pretty bad case. So we went today to get a scan of her head so they can get the helmet ready for it. She was such a great baby there did not get mad at all which I was surprised about with everyone messing with her head. She will probably have her helmet by the time we come to NC in May. We got a pink one since we could pick our own design. We both think the design is adorable. I never realized how many designs there were for these helmets. They had a princess one, a pink one with butterflies and a bunch with cars on them. The one we got was pink camo so she matches daddy. Its cute I promise. She will have to wear this helmet for 3 months which to me seems like a long time but its better to get it done early.
Well that is all to report today. Sorry no pictures I am having a hard time getting any on this thing. love you all.

its been awhile

I know it has been awhile since my last blog and I am very sorry about that. There has been many things that have happened since the last blog. Emma is now sitting up on her own unassisted for an average of 5 minutes. If we put her infront of the mirror she will do it longer. I guess she likes to look at herself. She is still not rolling over which is not a surprise for us but again if we put her looking at herself she will stay on her belly longer.
As many of you know Emma got an assessment done a few weeks ago. (Which is how we found out about using a mirror). They told us that she was averaging at a 4 months old level but I'm really not worried b/c children decide on their own when they want to do things. It seems to me that she just wants to skip rolling all together. They also told us they wouldn't be surprised if Emma never crawls because of her acid reflux and that she may start crawling early. Again, not a big surprise since both Dale and I started to walk early. He walked at 8 months and I walked at 10. The OT lady will be coming on the 9th to start her on the program they set her up on. We had to decide what we wanted her to be able to do in 6 months. One was play with toys in her mouth more (which she started doing the day after they left). Two to be either walking or crawling and third for her to be talking more. I think we will have no problems with any of those things.
Well that is all for today but I will be posting more soon. the computer is not letting me upload any pictures right now. sorry.

Emma is now 5 months old!

I can not believe how fast Emma is growing. We had to go to the store a few days ago to get her some new clothes. She is still in her 3-6 months clothes but is starting to be too tall for them but she is so skinny that she can still wear some of her 0-3 month clothes.

She has become such a happy baby. Every morning she wakes me up by giggling or talking to herself. Its so wonderful to hear her happy voice in the morning. She is now also starting to sit up on her own not for long but she is starting to do it! We are so proud of our little girl and love watching her play. Her favorite toy to play with right now is a butterfly toy that Mimi got her. It is constantly making noise even when she is nowhere near it. It drives me crazy but she loves it. She also loves her feet. she is always touching them. She is not sucking on her toe yet but I am sure that will come soon. Her and Abby have become such buddies which is so cute. Abby loves to lay by her head when she is doing tummy time. Emma still hates tummy time but she is starting to deal with it a lot better now than when I first started having her do it.

Also my sister is pregnant with her second daughter, Amelia. She is due at the beginning of March so hopefully Emma will have another cousin here really soon.

Emma is 4 months old!!!

Look how much she has grown!!!

Emma turned 4 months January the 5th. I can't believe how fast time is going by. People always say that before you know it your baby will be grown up. It feels like just yesterday I was pregnant with her. I want her to stay a baby forever. : (

Today Emma had her 4 month appointment which went fairly well. I was actually surprised at how small my little girl is. She is 12lbs and measured 24 1/2 inches long. So my little girl is tall and skinny. I know she didn't get that from me. hehe. The doctor wants me to come back in a month so that she can get weighed again. He said that its nothing to worry about but he just wants to make sure she continues to gain the right amount of weight. She has always been small. When she was born she weighed 7lbs 9 oz and then went down a whole pound in a weeks time. I am going to start her on rice cereal today and see if that helps her out.

Merry Christmas!!!

We had a wonderful christmas holiday this year. On the 21st Nana came to visit and help celebrate christmas with us. On Friday we didn't do too much since we were all exhausted from the long trip to the airport. On Saturday we got ready early to go shopping for a new table and highchair. We ended up finding a nice table and chairs for the kitchen at walmart. I also got my Christmas present from Dale. It was a new engagement ring! It is absolutely beautiful. I can't stop looking at it. That evening Pamala/Nana watched Emma so that Dale and I could have an evening out. We really enjoyed our time alone together. We first ate at Ruby Tuesdays and then went to see 'I am Legend.' That was an awesome movie! As much as I enjoyed my evening out I was ready to get home to my little girl. The rest of the evening we spent just talking and watching some tv. Having adult conversations was the the best part for me.

On Sunday we decided to do our Christmas so that Pamala could be with us since she was leaving early on Monday. We had already given our gifts to one another so all we had left was Emma's gifts. She got so much that I don't even know where to put everything. She got tons of books, a few raddle toys, a walker, jumperoo, and an exersaucer just to name a few.

On monday we had to say goodbye to Nana early which we were all really sad to see her go. When Dale came back from the airport I decided to take Abby to the dog park since it had been to cold to go the day before. She got to see her boyfriend, Gus. He is a golden retriever and they just love playing together. After that we just relaxed and watched 'A christmas story' which is a tradition in my family.

We all decided to sleep in on Christmas which to Dale is around 7:30 and to me sleeping in is 10. We didn't do too much since we had done Christmas a few days earlier but it was great just sitting around as a family. Dale and I did make some lasanga which turned out great surprisingly. We had a great Christmas and I just wish it could have been longer but I enjoyed the time we spent.

Hello everyone!!!

Emma turned 2 months old last monday and we took her for her 2 month check up. Everything looked great. She is weighing 10lbs 6.4oz and is measuring 22 inches. That is a big difference from her birth weight and height. She was 7lbs 9oz and 20 1/2 inches long. She is alittle below average in all of that so the doctor says she is petite which is odd to me b/c she looks like a chunkie baby to me.

She also got her first set of shots which was so sad to me. She was all happy laying on the table naked and then when the nurse stuck her with the first needle her face turned bright red and she screamed louder than i have ever heard her. I just wanted to pick her up and make her feel better but I knew this was for the best. She cried anytime she was up the whole day so monday night was a tough night. she is doing well now and is very happy.

We are also getting ready for our trip to NC. As I was packing our things I realized that 90% of the things we are taking belong to Emma and that its going to take up the whole car. I am amazed at how much a tiny little baby requires. Anyway, we are looking forward to seeing all of you. See you soon!!!
